Faustus by Tim Lane (original drawing)

Tim Lane’s drawing is almost exclusively figurative or illustrative.
His anachronistic style which has influences as diverse as Sir Arthur Rackham , Tim Burton and Ralph Steadman interprets themes from classic literature and classical mythology with dramatic results.

Working here in onyx pencil, ‘Faustus’ takes its theme from both Goethe’s Faust and Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus picking up the story at the end when it’s time for the soul to be collected.
